conversation went like this :
carol : anne! anne! sini! sini! anne! telur separuh masak dua. *smiles*
anne : telur separuh masak dua? okay kiran (my name in safa for the annes because they can't pronounce carol).
* looks toward julie and carmen* makan apa?
julie and carmen : *shook their head twice*
anne : *shuffles off*
carol : *continues talking to carmen*
eggs come. i dig in happily
egg crack, and the liquid comes out. i stare. thinking its still not cooked. so i crack open the entire egg.
and yes. it wasn't cooked.
carmen : b! haven't cooked yet leh! hahahaha.
carol : *mumbles profanities under her breath.*
carmen : hahaha. crack the other one into the other plate. *drags the other plate closer.*
*crack!*
carmen : oh my god. not cooked also!! hahaha. anne!
carol : *laughing and cursing while laughing* anne! blum masak la!
anne : aiyo! ya ka? *starts speaking in tamil to the other annes. probably reprimanding the anne that was in charged with my egg. and turns back to me and apologises to me.*
carol : *laughing laughing laughing* tak ape anne!
other customers : *laughing.*
carmen : *teasing me.*
joshua, eddy, swee heng, sam and hong seng : *laughing and teasing*
the second set of eggs come and i crack them open.
they're no longer telur separuh masak but over-cooked telur separuh masak.
carmen : *insists on checking the egg. so she cracks both for me*
carol : *smoking smoking*
carmen : b... *while holding the open egg.*
guess what i saw when i turned my head.
lol.
but ah well.
it was edible. and i definitely prefer this over the raw ones.
and the anne didn't even charge me for the two raw eggs. haha.
lesson of the day. never order half-boiled eggs unless they know your type of preference for half-boiled eggs.
